The Desert Biome AKA Drought was very fun to work on, after the initial Color Concept it was quite clear what we wanted to build. An old Aquatic world that turned into the Desert. The main idea out of the initial color sketches was that as this place dried up some of its resources would evaporate and move vertically up, essentially evaporating out of the crust of this planet and into its atmosphere. Marking the insides of the Canyon Red towards the higher ends. Anything that was in direct sunlight would get bleached over time. Here's a collection of images and concepts done for the Biome!
